Innovative Research Leads to a Radical New Approach to Thermal Management
Nuventix has grown into a worldwide corporation with sales, operations, and applications support worldwide conducting business in over 50 countries in a variety of industries including telecom, industrial automation, and LED lighting.
Nuventix is an active thermal management solutions company located in Austin, Texas. The Nuventix-developed SynJet® module is a newly patented synthetic jet cooling technology that utilizes turbulent pulses of air generated from an electromagnetic actuator.
Based on early success with processor cooling, Nuventix’s innovative approach to LED cooling is propelling that technology for general illumination forward. Synthetic jet technology using Nuventix’s patented methods means revolutionary thermal solutions that are applicable to a wide variety of industries, including telecommunications, embedded systems, servers, LED lighting, and industrial automation.
Nuventix was founded by researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology, including Dr. Raghav Mahalingam who is currently Chief Scientist at Nuventix, with the simple goal of removing more heat with less air. Much of the development was supported by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the U.S. Navy, and the National Science Foundation (NSF). The result is a radically new approach to thermal management that is not only more thermally effective, but is quieter, more flexible and more energy efficient than fans. Nuventix’ current portfolio contains 16 issued patents and 27 patent pendings in the US. In addition, there are 2 issued international patents and 7 international patent pendings.
